Culpepper and Associates, a leading provider of compensation survey data and consulting services, has a career opportunity for a full-time Microsoft SQL Database Developer in Alpharetta, GA.

We are expanding our development team and looking for a talented professional to join our team and contribute to the development of our survey data products and services.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain database solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Troubleshoot errors and performance issues related to SQL code.
  • Analyze and update data to ensure data integrity.
  • ETL utilizing SSIS packages.
  • Process documentation and source control.
  • Write complex queries and reports to assist internal operations.
  • Work with .NET developers and data analysts to implement database solutions.
  • DBA duties including setup and configuration of new and existing SQL Server instances, performance tuning, maintaining data synchronization between multiple disparate systems, and backup/replication.


  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta metro area.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Three plus years of professional development experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ability to write and optimize complex queries in T-SQL.
  • Experience writing queries utilizing SQL Server’s analytic/aggregate window functions.
  • Experience administering MS SQL Server instances.
  • Proficient with basic business statistics and data analysis.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certifications and related certifications.
  • Experience with advanced functionality in MS SQL Server Enterprise such as replication and columnstore indexing.
  • ETL experience between multiple different data sources.
  • Experience in the following areas are a plus but not required:
    Salesforce database integration/administration, R / Revolution R analytics, .NET development.
